Our Team has come up through the ranks over the last 30 years working in the live entertainment and film industries. Starting out from a young age our teams’ career as technical professionals began with a passion for lighting and video and progressed to technical producers/ directors and management.
Throughout our long careers we have worked across all aspects of the live entertainment and film industries within Australia, New Zealand and around the Globe. Projects range from major concerts and festivals, large scale sporting events, corporate events, film and television as well as bespoke projects.
Our people have strong leadership skills and qualities with a focus on building comradery and strong and loyal teams to drive the best possible results. The team’s passion and commitment to delivering excellence time and again has resulted in a strong client base that know DarkArts can be trusted. JAMES DEE
Designer | Director
James Dee has worked across all aspects of the live entertainment industry at the highest levels both within Australia and around the Globe. His experience ranges from project management, technical direction and design in major concerts and festivals, large scale sporting events, corporate events, film and television as well as bespoke projects.
James’ executive management experience is consolidated by excellent communication and interpersonal skills, A result-driven leader able to create value through his ability to think analytically, strategically, and creatively while remaining highly focused on providing superior customer service and outstanding performance. Over the past two decades, James has been instrumental in some of the biggest events in the country including but not limited to Falls Festival, Splendour in the Grass, VIVID Sydney (NSW), 2019 Invictus Games (NSW), and the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games (QLD), Listen Out & In (QLD & AKL)
SCOTT DAVIS
Video Specialist | Director
Scott Davis is a senior executive with over 20 years of experience as a world leader in audio- video technology and the market. After starting his career as an Electronics Engineer, he went on to be the founder and managing director of New Zealand based video and content creation company Spyglass.
His incredible combination of technical and business prowess drove the explosive growth of Spyglass. In 2014 Scott then successfully drove the acquisition and integrated merger of Spyglass. Scott later set his sights on a new challenge; a combination of minds that would then become DarkArts Global.
Scott’s reputation is a creative innovator not just in Australasia but also internationally at locations including France, Spain, Japan, Malaysia, China, Russia, and the UK and with global brands including Toyota, Louis Vuitton, World Cup Rugby.
NICK DIVEHALL
Advisor | Business Development
Nick Divehall is a technology executive leveraging over 20 years of global business experience with world-leading companies in the Media, Entertainment, Design, Automotive, and Computer Graphics industries. Nick is Vice-President of Garibaldi Capital Advisors (GCA) an investment bank to high-growth technology companies with offices in the US and Canada. Nick also works with Jon Peddie Research to track and analyse Computer Graphics and Content Creation markets.
Before joining GCA, as CEO he led the acquisition of MatterMachine (Cloud Platform for scalable custom manufacturing), by Trimble. Also leading Global Enterprise Accounts & Business Development for Academy Award
-winning technology companies, including Autodesk and Alias (acquired by Autodesk), holding Global roles based in California and Asia-Pacific roles based in Japan and Singapore. Nick began his career in New Zealand where his company worked closely with Weta Digital as they were establishing themselves as a world leading VFX studio.
